Forest Schools do have an element of risk which is what makes them exciting for the children, thorough risk assessments are carried out to ensure that the activities are at the correct level for the children taking part and the children’s abilities are assessed at all times.

Children need to wear at least 2 layers on top and 2 pairs of socks, depending on the weather, it is essential that they are warm and comfortable for them to make the most of the experience. Please ensure that the children wear sturdy footwear and have their arms and legs covered. If it has been raining then waterproof trousers and jackets will also be useful.

Forest School carries on in all weathers and through all seasons, the only exception is if there are high winds. If this is the case then, if possible, the session will be moved to a more suitable site. If this is not possible then staff and parents will be informed as soon as possible if the session can’t go ahead.

There is an Eco-toilet available, hand washing facilities and in the case of wet weather a covered seating area.
